TRAINING METHOD AND APPROACH:

As your fitness and wellness coach, I will design and coach you through a personalized strength and conditioning program that will support, strengthen, and stabilize your spine and the surrounding body structures. By doing so, you will feel healthier and more equipped to do what you love and feel great doing it.

Our training sessions will be the foundation for cultivating an active lifestyle or enhancing an already existing exercise program, activity or sport. Individually tailored exercises are designed to build or re-build the mobility, flexibility, and strength needed for daily tasks and activities that have been discontinued due to deconditioning, discomfort and pain.
Clients will see success through a variety of lenses. Here are just a few outcomes of my training program: (1.) More Confidence in Movement. (2.) Reduced Injury & Pain (3.) Better Performance in Daily Fitness & Sport (4.) Mental & Emotional Well-Being

Sessions include cardio conditioning, strength training, mobility exercises and stretching. Assisted stretching and yoga poses will further allow relaxation and release of muscle tension. Intensity will vary depending on clients current health and fitness level, goals, and preferences in workout style.
My workouts are multi-faceted, creative, and highly varied to keep your training exciting and fun, while continuously challenging you as you grow.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

At KC Fitness Therapy, strength and conditioning is far more than lifting heavy weights — it’s about building resilient bodies that move with confidence, durability, and purpose. Whether you’re coming back from injury, training for performance, or simply wanting to feel stronger in daily life, I design programs that meet you where you are — and help you evolve.
As a lifelong athlete myself, I understand the demands you place on your body — and the toll it can take without the right foundation. My approach blends sport science, injury prevention, and performance coaching to help you build a body that’s not just stronger, but also more agile, mobile, and resilient.

What can you expect from our training? (1.) Sport-Specific Strength Training that support the unique demands of your sport. (2.) Power & Performance Development to train explosive strength, speed, coordination, and reactivity — using methods like plyometrics, tempo work, and controlled overload. (3.) Efficiency through Mobility and Stability through improvements in control and range of motion (corrective exercises, dynamic mobility drills, and neuromuscular training) (4.) Injury Prevention & Longevity to help athletes train smarter by focusing on symmetry, balance, and joint integrity so your body can handle the grind of your sport. (5.) Data-Driven Progression through assessments and movement screens.

Strength and Conditioning programming at KC Fitness Therapy is highly personalized to your current fitness level, injury history, sport demands, and long-term goals. Every plan is adaptable — whether you're pushing for peak performance or navigating a recovery period, we adjust as you progress or face setbacks.
This approach is ideal for:
-
Current and former athletes looking to elevate or maintain performance
-
Youth and high-school athletes in-season or off-season
-
Active adults training with purpose
-
Post-rehab clients transitioning back to sport
-
Anyone who wants to move, lift, and live like an athlete

FITNESS FOR SENIORS:

Whether you are in the best shape of your life, recovering from a fall, or just want to have more strength and stability for everyday life, this is a great option for those 65+.

As we age, our bodies challenge us in new ways. I'm sure you've heard the saying, "If you don't use it, you lose it." While this is true for someone of any age, it is especially true for those later in life. When it comes to the health of our bodies, engaging our muscles, challenging our balance, and bearing weight on our bones are all ways in which we can keep our muscular and skeletal system healthy and happy.

During our senior fitness sessions, the focus is targeted very specifically to your personal goals. Wondering if senior fitness is right for you? Here are just a few examples of why you or a loved one might sign up for a Senior Fitness Session with Kathleen:

-
Older adults who want to improve strength, balance, and mobility for everyday tasks
-
Individuals who struggle to stand up from a chair without using their arms for support
-
Hikers or walkers who feel unsteady on uneven terrain or have noticed increased balance issues
-
Lifelong runners or active seniors looking to maintain muscle mass and endurance
-
Anyone advised to begin a weight-bearing exercise program to support bone density and joint health
-
Those recovering from injury or inactivity who want to return to movement safely and confidently
-
Seniors seeking a supportive, personalized approach to staying active and independent

HEATLTH & NUTRITION COACHING:

Navigating the world of wellness — from the latest fitness trends and diet crazes to sleep hacks and stress-reduction strategies — can feel like a full-time job. There’s no shortage of information, but sorting through it all and figuring out what actually works for your life? That’s where real support matters.

Whether you’re trying to eat better, sleep deeper, manage stress, or get more consistent with movement, I offer a holistic, individualized coaching approach that meets you where you are and helps you move forward with clarity and confidence.

The world of nutrition alone is overwhelming: endless food choices, conflicting advice, and diet trends pulling you in different directions. You might be navigating food intolerances like dairy or gluten, following a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle, or managing medical recommendations like low sodium or anti-inflammatory eating.

Rather than prescribing a one-size-fits-all diet, I help you learn how to support your activity needs, meet your macronutrient goals, and create healthy eating patterns that fit your personal lifestyle, values, and preferences. I believe in flexibility, sustainability, and education — not restriction or rigid plans.

We will work on sleep hygiene to improve energy and mood, and dive into recovery and stress management tools you can actually use — not just “take a bubble bath” advice. We will look at exercise consistency, customized to your current level and goals and daily routines that support long-term behavior change and well-being.

My role as your health coach is to be a supportive, encouraging guide — whether you're starting your wellness journey, leveling up your training, or simply trying to feel more in control of your habits. With realistic strategies and compassionate accountability, we’ll build a foundation for lasting health — together.
